Roger’s Coffin

Our friend and neighbour, Roger Wolfe, died from long term cancer in August 2018. I was one of a small team who supported him during his decline. Before he died we painted his cardboard coffin, under his direction. We explored ideas and he decided that he wanted it painted as a seascape, so I painted an octopus. It was a collective effort, with adults and children all working together as a community.

Roger died a few days after the coffin was completed. We had a service at Halton Mill followed by a woodland burial.
